FIITJEE and Aakash Institute in trouble over misusing IIT topper name
by Surili Shah
IITs are the most prestigious institutions for engineering education in Indian and around the world ; however this pride has been misused by our desi coaching institute year after after for getting more enrollments from students and eventually making more money.
As soon as the IIT entrance exam results are declared, you might see the ads on the full page on newspapers, grand-size hoardings on the side of the road claiming that our students are the best in IIT, 100% percent admission record.
Let me tell you most of them are fake claims and it has been fooling the educated society for a long time but I'd glad to say not anymore as HRD minister Kapil Sibal have asked CBI to probe the matter where FIITJEE and Aakash Institute has been allegated to misuse the name of IITJEE and AIEEE 2009 Topper Nitin Jain for obviously commercial and prestige gain.
Sibal said on Friday, "We have asked CBI to look into the allegations. Appropriate action will be taken against the institutes if found guilty. They have a habit of claiming that toppers studied in their institute."
More drama was revealed when got hold of Nitin Jain's family who puts these allegation on FIITJEE and Aakash institue, to comment on the claims made by the mentioned institutes, Chiranji Lal Jain, father of Nitin Jain, said, "Coaching institutes are indulging in big frauds. They are like shops. Let CBI call me and I will expose them."
"Nitin never went to Aakash Institute, yet it claimed he was a student there. Even in case of FIITJEE where Nitin studied, he said, the boy was coerced into writing a letter in praise of the institute", he added.
Hopefully, soon enough these institutes will stop making all the tall claims by which teachers, parents and students get impressed and empty their pockets to get the admissions at the desired place for better future.
