Rajneeti Movie Review, Rating and Audience Response
by Ashutosh Mehra
Prakash Jha's Latest Flick Rajneeti has been into news since its inception; however the news was not always pleasant. The media was always pretty excited about the cast of the film, Katrina Plays Sonia, Ranbir plays a shady character, Veterans like Nana Patekar, Ajay Devgan and Manoj Bajpai and some style by Arjun Rampal.
When it was recently asked from Katrina that about whose character and acting she has liked most in the movie, the actress said: “ It is Nana Patekar. He is a refined actor and has outshined the entire cast in the film.”
Ajay Devgan hopes that Prakash Jha's Rajneeti helps people understand politics better. “ The movie has both good and bad politicians and it also projects how people get caught in situations. I hope the audience understands not all politicians are corrupt or bad,” he explains.
Rajneeti is inspired by the mythological text and takes inout from epic 'Mahabharata'. Rajneeti is mainly about the story of 2 cousins - Prithviraj Pratap (Arjun Rampal) and Veerendra Pratap (Manoj Bajpai). Veerendra believes that it is his birth right to become the leader of the party for which he joined hands with Sooraj Kumar (Ajay Devgan), a powerful Dalit leader as he wants to achieve his right at any cost.
Samar Pratap (Ranbir Kapoor) never thought of becoming a politician. He went abroad for higher education and dreamed of becoming a lecturer but fate had different plans for him. He ended up into politics and becomes one of the top players. With Brij Gopal (Nana Patekar) on his side, Samar learns the inner workings of politics and becomes a master strategist.
Arjun’s character is related to Bhim while Samar’s is Arjun, Veerendra is Duryodhona and Brij Gopal is Lord Krishna. Like Michael Corleone, Samar takes over his father’s empire and becomes the top guy.
Rajneeti has a very good script which unfold many stories one after another in the movie. You would get acquainted with the characters and the inner workings of the system which is called the good film making. And the Best Part for me of the Movie is that there are no songs and dance sequences in the movie.
Overall, it is a great sensible movie made where potential of all actors have been used including Arjun Rampal. So, we'll advice you to go for flick this weekend.
