Milenge Milenge Review, Ratings and Audience Response
by Surili Shah
Once upon a time when Shahid Kapur was Bollywood’s Boy Wonder and Kareena was still emerging from the ‘ Karisma’s sister’ tag, and when Shahid- Kareena were quite the item, Boney Kapoor launched this film with high hopes.
Milenge Milenge opens only now, long after Shahid- Kareena have sworn to never meet. Point to note here being that despite the dated look of the film, its hero and heroine, something about Boney’s film reminds you Jab We Met was no fluke. As the once- again- and- never- again pair reveals raw chemistry in fits, you wonder if their real- life rift robbed Bollywood of a solid pair.
Beyond that, this is just a regular mush chakkar . Good girl moons about finding Mr Right.
Enter bad boy, who decides to play along, pretending to be Mr Right for her, so she falls in love with him. An elaborate tripe session follows when she discovers the truth.
And all is forgiven in the climax.
Shahid looks good in an impish role. Kareena easily gets the traditional nice girl act right.
But the film fails to give them reason to excel.
