Lisa Ray turns Host for Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip

After a tough fight with cancer, Actress Lisa Ray is coming to life again and living it to the fullest. She played host to none other than Queen Elizabeth II during an event to celebrate the creation of Canada.

Lisa looked positively radiant in a nude colour suit.

Her outfit was as English as it can be — conservative, neutral- coloured, feminine and yet very formal. Just to add a dash of playfulness, she put a big white flower in her hair.

Wearing a curly crop on her head, the actress flashed her electric smile and carried around with poise. She showed how grit and resilience have won her more admirers than her film career ever did.

“ I hosted the informal lunch for the Queen. It’s a huge honour especially on the heels of my recovery ( rom a debilitating multiple myeloma, a bone marrow cancer),” the 38- year- old actress said.

Lisa, though she hasn’t been actively into films for quite some time, raised a toast to the Queen at the Pinewood Toronto Studios, where the British monarch heard the tune of the hit song Jai Ho from the Oscar- winning film Slumdog Millionaire.

The Queen also watched the filming of a three- minute film called 1812, in which a group of dancers in formal British Empire dress begin a formal dance from the 19th century before abruptly breaking into a Bollywood number. Indo- Canadian Deepa Mehta directed the short film.
