Mayanti Langer is a BA (Hons) graduate from Hindu College, Delhi University; however moved to USA later as her father Major General Sanjiv Langer worked in UN which demanded continuous travelling. Her Mother is Mrs. Preminda Langer, an award winning teacher.

She grew her interest in football when she was in USA as her father worked in UN. She was in her college football team in the beginning and then became a guest anchor for a broadcast of FIFA beach football. With the success of the broadcast she was offered a spot as host and associate producer for Football Cafeon Zee Sports.

Langer was also the anchor on Zee Sports for the Nehru Cupheld in New Delhiat the Ambedkar Stadium. She was also the host of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup 2010 Broadcast on Ten Sports which includes a pre-match, half-match and post-match analysis.

She is heading a team of expert panelists alongside John Dykes in the match previews and post match analysis for FIFA World Cup 2010 broadcast in ESPN for the Indian Subcontinent.
