Udaan Movie Review, Rating & Response
by Surili Shah
Udaan had been in the news since it was first screened at the Cannes film festival and reportedly it got the standing ovation from everyone who saw it Cannes. However, back here in India where it matters the most it has not got the desired results as it has been labeled as not a extraordinary film and just another work of offbeat cinema.
Rohan, played by talented Rajat Barmecha, is an 'average' kid, rebellious and dreamer. He is been expelled from the school and has a Hitler kind of father who runs a small steel plant at Jamshedpur. An immensely strict father Rohan to be an engineer and enjoys defeating him in running where Rohan wants to find happiness while composing poetry spend time on the railway tracks.
The story moves around Rohan poised him as the central character and those who had the troubled childhood would be able to connect with the film. All the actors have provided a stunning performance specially Rajat Barmecha and Ronit in the scenes where Rajat gets to know that his step brother is in hospital due to the beating of the Father.
Ronit Roy has always been a brilliant actor however here he shows another side of him being the villain in the shape of an Father, Director Vikramaditya Motwane deserves standing ovation as he got in the Cannes this year.
Those who are looking to witness one of the best work of serious cinema of this year should buy the tickets for this one else Tere Bin Laden is their to take you away with Laughter, however this is a must watch
This work of Vikramaditya Motwane deserves 3 / 5 and become one of the must watch of this year.
