MTNL has made the PC cheaper than the Mobile Phone. Customers can rent a PC by just paying 4,999 in the beginning and Rs 249 every month. This affordable package will come with Internet access as well as online computing applications however customers would need to pay for the broadband charges apart form Rs 249 rent per month.

MTNL has taken this creative step to offer cheap, affordable but excellent services to its customers to expand its broadband base, and to serve this purpose they have tied up with a Chennai- based IT firm Novatium Solutions

Focus would be to provide high quality services related to Internet, gaming, digital entertainment, education, telephony and business productivity.

Customers would get Nova Navigator console, USB keyboard and USB mouse for Rs 249 per month after paying Rs. 4,999 initially.

While talking to Media, CEO of Novatium Solutions said, “We are getting encouraging responses from subscribers and expect tremendous growth in the current fiscal. We are looking at attaining a subscriber base of two lakh by the end of the financial year 2010-11,”.

“MTNL Nova Navigator is a ‘zero-maintenance’ access device and is easy to plug-andplay,” said Singh. It supports Linux and the Windows operating system and can be used for both Internet access and computing applications, he added.

If steps are continuously taken by big players in the market to provide affordable computers and Internet, I'm sure that India is going to beat the China & USA in number of users who uses Internet on daily basis very soon.
