Bharat Bandh by BJP on 5th July against Price Rise, Inflation

Nation is going to observe Bharat Bandh on 5th July, 2010 which was called by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and later joined by Samajwadi Party against price rise in petroleum prices. Samajwadi Party on Thursday appealed to the Rashtriya Janata Dal, the Lok Jan Shakti Party and the Rashtriya Lok Dal to follow suit.

he BJP president said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi few days back released the UPA Government’s Report Card and both have categorically admitted that checking price rise has been the major failure of the Government.

“They committed to take steps to control prices. It is shocking that instead of bringing down the prices, the petroleum prices hike shall fuel the price rise further.

Meanwhile, a 12-hour nationwide ‘hartal’ (general strike) on the same day (July 5) has been called by the Left and other Opposition parties against the recent fuel price hike.

The four Left parties – Communist Party of India, CPI (Marxist), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP) and Forward Bloc – have given the call for the strike. Besides, the AIADMK, Telegu desam Party (TDP), Samajwadi Party, Biju Janata Dal (BJD), Janata Dal (Socialist) and INLD have also supported the strike call.

New Petrol Prices has been increased by Rs 3.5 and Diesel Price by Rs 2 which is clear invitation to the rise in prices of essential commotions, eatables.

It seems sometimes opposition is necessary to carry out activities like these, may be BJP is doing this to gain people trust however this would help out the common man if they are successful in pushing the increased prices back but the question is , Is it really going to happen?

Well I will be supporting Bandh against the price hikes. I think Govt. don't think for common people. Fuel price hike impacts increase in cost of daily use commodity....
What the hell Congress and supporting parties doing??? Just going for bandh is not only the solution, all other parties must come and join to get price hike back...so that we can get some relaxation.

Think about the bigger picture. Govt & petroleum companies are essentially making huge losses & incurring debt in order to keep the fuel prices low although the per barrel oil costs go on increasing.
Either ways, the common man will lose money, in the form of lesser govt expenses on infrastructure & facilities or in the form of individual's expenses on everything he/she buys.

Both the ruling party & the opposition should come together in order to target the root cause of the problem: How to process & sell the petroleum purchased without making a loss while keeping the price of the petroleum products low. Either they need to get this right or look at alternate ways to fuel the needs of the population.

Petrol, agriculture and general comodities should be given to one minister so that, he is accountable and answerable to the maintenance of price, rather than playing the blame game and happily filling their pockets.... BA****DS

GOD WILLING,THE BANDH WAS FOR GOOD OF THE COMMON MAN. MOSTLY BANDHS ARE TO DEMONSTRATE THe MIGHT OF THE POLITICAL PARTIES.

EVERY BODY KNOWS THAT THEY ARE NOT FOR PEOPLE BUT FOR THEIR OWN RETENTION AND AGGRANDISEMENT

all politicians are same.. they come in politics just for Money, name and fame... not for public security.. guys what do u think BJP & other parties are doing it for us... they r just collecting the vote for next selection.

Bharat Band is only a drama.. there is no result... it will effect only to some common people, not to any politician...

Bandh should bring some outcome against the
Govt. rising prices, It is only the common middle class people who suffer. Rich become
richer no matter how and the poor has no choice.
Politicians only fill their pockets on the cost of the common man

Doing Strike and Bundh will not solve the problem than loosing one day daily bread and other essentials. This will cause crores of money loss. I request not to take this step instead to discuss with the concerned and set right the things cooly. During Bundh the people will loose control and take revenge. I request you to not give chance for this bad activities.

whatevet yaar... we wnat a result...because this will be problematic for middle clacc people.. so we have to pray for good going

calling bandh, hartal, etc. will not going to help. why peoples are voting for such a foolish government like UPA in elections. what happen to them at that time. just politics, and people are used to it there should be unity among the people. Today everyone soul is dead and running behind glamour and money nobody think of national issues, and also it seems that spirit of nationality is not present in Indians, we should learn from countries like America, Germany, where people think of nation.

If bandh is the solution to progress, so is it. But if isn't, opposition must come out with more effective ideas to reign over the ruling parties.
Anonymous { July 3, 2010 at 7:45 AM }
seriously these price hikes continously is suking life of common ppl
dnt know wat will b d effect of this bandh but inspite of this bandh parties should joined together to find solution for this problem
Anonymous { July 3, 2010 at 11:01 AM }
We have always witnessed something which is always hampering us in all respects and the Bandh called by the relevant parties only proves their inefficiency in dealing with the price rise.Lets think like sane human beings and not like small children in combatting the problem in hand rather than stopping all services and making the common man suffer.Lets come together and support all in a calm and a composed way rather than resenting to violence

politics people are not understanding that this will also cost us too many carores....

i dont know wat they want..

but surely this is not the solution for our problem...

they just want money nothing else...

just shame..... :-((

well now its the time to wakeup everyone otherwise this govt. makes us more fool. lets participate in this strike and raise your voice against this govt.

Taken that the common man will get pressurised by the hike, but its better to increase the price in installments rather than give a big shock..
Thinking on the condition of the petro companies and the govt. its absolutely necessary to deregulate the petro prices. Else its gonna turn into a huge bubble which when bursts, will cause bigger problems for the common man.
Think of this...at present its just increased by Rs 3.50...but if not this for now, further on when the losses will be unbearable...they will have to increase it substantially...even at a scale of Rs 10-15...and just imagine the effect it will have on the inflation. So this move in my opinion is infact in the favour of the common man and not against him. When the prices are raised slowly...it will have a lesser effect on the inflation, and as the prices increase...so will the income. If its gonna be a sudden rise...how will you cope up with it? Cause its not gonna be a proportionate rise in income. Think of future value of money rather than just the present.
So keep cool...the govt knows what it is doing and its definetly in favour of the mass
:)
Anonymous { July 4, 2010 at 2:27 AM }
whatever.... i agree with that if prices are low in other countries than why not for india... one needs to find out a root cause for this rather than all this bullshits BANDH.... as this is also indirectly affecting common man, people beloe the poverty line... it is affecting their daily bread & butter.... so dont do any Bandh Vandh.... nonsense.

Find out the solution on this. if you are REAL HUMAN GOVERNMENT.... OR .......!!!!!!
Anonymous { July 4, 2010 at 2:35 AM }
BANDH will only show that prices are really goes very high and beyond control of government .Every class are the sufferers. This is one way to represents the sentiment.

JO LANKA ME JAYEGA,RAJA BANEGA,WOHI RAVAN HOGA,SAMARTH KO NAHI DOSH GOSHAI, IN RAMAYAN IT IS SAID. THIS IS TRUE. PRICE HIKE IS NOT THE PROBLEM, MAIN PROBLEM IS PURCHASING POWER OF COMMON CLASS. HERE IN INDIA/THE BHARAT OF GAREEB IS OF HINDOSTHANI,INDIA OF RICH CLASS AND THEY ARE NO WHERE EFFECTED, BECAUSE THEY HAVE SUCH A PURCHASING POWER. THEY BELONG TO ANY MEANS TO BJP/CONGRESS/SP/ THIS P THAT P THEY ALL ARE TO 'P'=POLITICAL PARTY=RICH PEOPLE.THIS AMBANI IS RICH ANOTHER AMBANI IS IN BELOW POVERTY LINE. ONE MISHRA IS RICHEST ANOTHER MISHRA IS BELOW POVERTY LINE. BUT THE POLITICIAN DECLARE BY THEIR LEGISLATION THE MISHRA = BRAHMIN = HIGHER CLASS. THIS IS INDIA WE ARE FOOLS AND THEREFORE WE ARE MADE FOOLS. PATRIOTISM IS FOR POOR/NEEDY/BEGGARS CLASS PEOPLE OF INDIA, IT? THAT IS TRUE?

i think its a wastage, what after 1 day bandh, life will come to normal routine. i am totally against all these bandhs, these are not required.

petrol price hike was necessary as oil companies are making losses, don't think that government is against the people, it is for us only but these price rise measures are required for our benefit only. bandh is a political tool nothing else. leaders who are advocating for hike in petrol themselves don't pay for petrol. if they think so much for common people then why they take hundreds of liters petrol/diesel free every month. so don't gwt fooled by bandhs. if u have to protest then protest in some other way. 1 day bandh will affect common people only. leaders aree not going to be affected by this. work is worship.
SATYAMEV JAYATE { July 4, 2010 at 10:51 AM }
I FULLY SUPPORT THIS BANDH! THIS GOVT. IS KILLING THE INDIAN MIDDLE AND LOWER CLASS WITH THE CONTINUED INFLATION. THE PRICES OF FOOD, HOUSING HAVE GONE BEYOND THE REACH OF EVEN THE MIDDLE CLASS, WHAT TO TALK OF THE POOR!!! THIS GOVT. IS MAKING THE RICH RICHER AND THE POOR POORER!!...
