Argentina Vs Germany Match Preview, Starting Eleven, Prediction
by Ashutosh Mehra
Two most powerful teams will outshine the power of each other when they clash in the first match of today's quarter finals. These two teams alone share 5 World Cup Titles between them which signifies their dominance in World Football.
Ideally, these kind of matches should only be played in the final of any tournament because this is of high standard and treat to the eyes of viewers. Argentina have been outstanding so far in the tournament and have not lost a sinle match in the tournament. Diego Maradona seems to have found out the best line-up which shall bring him the cup.
Germany topped Group D despite despite losing to Serbia. They have been super impressive against both Australia and Ghana, and then against England in the round of 16, inflicting an emphatic 4-1 defeat on the English team, however the problem here is with their consistency.
If we look at some history, Argentina defeated Germany in the final of 1986 World Cup after which Germany defeated Argentina in the 1990 World Cup final to win their third title.
Probable Eleven of both the Teams :
Argentina: Romero, Otamendi, Demichelis, Burdisso, Heinze, Rodriguez, Mascherano, Di Maria, Messi, Tevez, Higuain
Germany : Neuer, Lahm, Mertesacker, Friedrich, Badstuber, Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Muller, Ozil, Podolski, Klose
Predictions :
We are going against the prediction of Octopus here and confident that it is going to be true. Argentina have some lapses in their defence, so does Germany however the attack of Argentina is much more stronger than of Germany. I felt that England were haywire in the match against Germany which let the latter score 4 goals and when a team like England can score 2 goals in quick succession (1 Goal not considered ), Argentina is expected to rip apart the scoreboard.

But one funny thing is that, I can't entirely rule out the chance of watching the Germans fighting against the Dutches.... However it is a dream come true...Either Schweinsteiger or Sneijder. No regrets......
