Neetu Chandra to Produce a Bhojpuri Film
by Surili Shah

She says that the cow belt films are replete with vulgar scenes, double entendre dialogue and uncouth sequences. In short, you cannot watch such films with your family, she says. Chandra, who was recently seen in Jagmohan Mundra’s Apartment, has now decided to produce a ‘ clean’ film with wholesome entertainment which will appeal to all sections of Bhojpuri audiences.
Chandra launched an ambitious film, Deswa, in her home town Patna which marks the debut of her brother Nitin Chandra as the director. The 26- yearold actress is confident that her film, which revolves around the theme of Bihar’s turnaround in the recent years, will force the so- called elite audience – that stays away from the Bhojpuri movies dismissing them as downright vulgar -- to come to theatres.
This is clearly Chandra’s boldest act yet.
