Kristen Stewart to be Casted with Hrithik Roshan for New Film Paani

SHEKHAR Kapur wants Hollywood beauty Kristen Stewart to star opposite Hrithik Roshan in his upcoming ambitious venture Paani . While a section of the media has reported that Kristen, heroine of the hugely popular Twilight series, is on her way to signing the film, Kapur tweeted on Wednesday that “ people are jumping to conclusions”. “ Kristen Stewart is not aboard Paani . We’ve just had one conversation. She still needs to read the script,” he added.

The Elizabeth director however seemed impressed with Kristen. “ She’s terrific and ( I) love her,” he wrote on his Twitter page. Meanwhile, Kristen’s representative has stated the actress is not set to star in this movie as of now.

Hrithik, on his part, looks final for Kapur’s ambitious movie. Hrithik’s wife Sussanne has confirmed it on Twitter: “ H ( Hrithik) has signed Paani .” Kapur and Hrithik, though, are yet to confirm the report.

Coming back to Kristen, a tabloid has stated that Kapur wants the 20- year- old actress to play a stunning rich beauty who falls in love with Hrithik’s character in a sort of a Romeo and Juliet story in the film. Kapur apparently is on the lookout for a tall and pretty girl to play a new- age Juliet, and feels Kristen is perfect.

Kapur in fact has been throwing random Hollywood names to bolster hype over Paani . Recently, he hinted he was approaching Oscar- winning actor Christoph Waltz of Inglourious Basterds fame.

Kapur wrote on his blog: “ I told him ( Waltz) the story and ( about) the world of Paani . I told him about the character I wanted him to play. And he said he loved it. And we decided to meet to see how we can work it out.” The filmmaker has already started working on the movie’s music with A. R. Rahman. “( I am) In AR Rahman’s studio working on music of Paani … Beautiful experience working with him. He transports you into a different world,” Kapur tweeted.

As for Hrithik, the filmmaker has been meeting him regularly over the past few months. At the moment, the actor is looking forward to his next film, Anurag Basu’s Kites , in which he co- stars with Mexican beauty Barbara Mori.

Meanwhile, Kapur, a jury member at the Cannes film festival this year, is set to work with Hollywood star Julia Roberts on a new project. He will direct a biopic of English explorer George Mallory. The film is to be produced by Roberts along with Kevin Townsend.

On his new film with Roberts, Kapur said recently: “ I am making the film, the news is true. I find it very exciting to be doing this as it’s a fantastic story.” Set in post- World War I England, the story chronicles Mallory’s attempts to scale Mount Everest and how his obsession takes a toll on his marriage.
